Start to Season
The Listowel U8 Team#2 squad is off to a tough start to the season with two 5-0 losses. In the first game against Listowel #1 the team showed some positive aspects to their game that the coaching staff saw that they could build on and some points that they noticed they needed to work on.
After another practice to work on some defence and some ball handling, the team put forward a better effort in game #2 against Listowel #3. Although the score was the same 5-0 loss, the team played much better defence and controlled more of the play than they did in the first game. The first half ended in a 0-0 tie with both teams having a few good scoring chances foiled by the goalies. In the second half, the team seemed to run out of gas which resulted in 5 unanswered goals by the visiting team.
Hopefully this young team will continue to improve like we have seem over the first few weeks and the results will get better as we go.
