Now that the season is under way, there are a few items which we need to address to all.
This applies to all locations, township or school properties, throughout the league.
There is to be NO SMOKING at the soccer fields. What you do in your car is up to you but once outside, even in the parking lot, smoking is not permitted.
Sorry but there are to be NO DOGS on the soccer fields or as spectators.
Parents / fans / spectators are to be sitting on the opposite side of the field as the teams. Teams are to share one side while everyone else is on the other side.
Please respect all the playground equipment. Clubs are using fields adjacent to existing equipment. This is someone else's property, so use with caution and respect.
Respect the game, and the referees. No one is perfect, especially the loudmouth parent. Let's let the kids enjoy the summer and the game they signed up to play. Next year you can have your chance to referee or coach to show us how it is done perfectly.
Games are played in the rain. Kids do not melt even if you think they are the sweet. Home teams will reach out if severe weather exists or is forecasted. They will make the decision on what to do that evening and inform the visiting team as to the plan, or at least have a plan with the opposing team. Coaches will reach out to you. Lightening / thunder is the only reason to pause a game based on the NPSL policy. (use common sense)
This does not apply to K4 and U6 local games - what the website for updates - but they too can get wet.
Players cannot play with earrings, and or jewelry of any kind. Medical alert is the one exception, but it must be taped to the body and not lose fitting. Save the graduation / school yearend piercings until after the soccer season.
Players cannot wear hard peak caps. some exceptions are made for goalie but that is at the discretion of the referee and the referee only.
Enjoy the season, have fun, and please put things into perspective. Nothing we are asking for is a big deal. Travel safely to and from the games and support your kids positively.
